Extermination

(Fighter), (Rogue), (Wizard) and Eldem, lead by (Ranger), headed south-east toward the kobold encampment. Entering a clearing before the wooded encampment, the band of adventurers stopped to decide the best course of action.

(Ranger) decided to disguise himself as the leader from the kobold band that ambushed them as they left Winterhaven, and attempted to stealthily infiltrate the kobold camp. Initially the ruse worked as intended, however (Ranger) made a mistake by getting too close to the kobold leader. The ruse was quickly discovered, and the entire kobold camp was alerted to the adventurers presence.

After a long and bloody battle, during which a kobold escaped and ran behind a waterfall, the previously jubilant adventurers realized that they merely destroyed a forward guard, and that the real kobold lair was probably behind the waterfall.

The Ambush

The four companions headed west to Winterhaven, in search of cult activity in the area. As they approached Winterhaven, there were ambushed by a band of bold kobolds. Quickly dispatching the kobolds, the four headed to town, where they stayed at an inn for the night. There they discovered that kobold attacks around Winterhaven were not a rare occurrence, and that Winterhaven has a kobold problem on it’s hands.

In the morning, the group set about their task of searching for cult-like activity. After thoroughly investigating, they came to the conclusion there was no such activity, and decided to help Winterhaven with it’s kobold problem.

After visiting with Lord Padraig, custodian of Winterhaven, the adventurers learned of a kobold encampment somewhere south east of Winterhaven from Lord Padraig’s personal hunter, the halfling (Ranger). For a small fee, the adventurers, guided by (Ranger), agreed to go seek out the kobold camp and exterminate them.

As the five adventurers left Winterhaven, they were ambushed again! After the fight, (Ranger) picked up a bone mask to use as a disguise once the camp was in sight.

Prelude

The three friends (Fighter), (Wizard) and (Rogue) grew up together. Adopted and mentored by Orin Breakstaff, they were brought up to be good, upstanding members of society. Orin Breakstaff, a wise old wizard, trained (Wizard) to follow in his footsteps, and maybe achieve something more. He had (Fighter) trained as a protector for (Wizard), while the willful (Rogue) learned her skills on the streets of Forsthome.

When the three became of age to discover their own destiny, Orin sent them out with Eldem, an old and trusted friend. Eldem, a cleric of Moradin, had word from his brethren, Rockar. Rockar has been monitoring some activity of a cult, headed west toward the town of Winterhaven over a year ago. Eldem was charged with discovering what came of that cult, and if anything resulted, putting a stop to it.

Eldem set out with (Fighter), (Wizard) and (Rogue) to Winterhaven, expecting to find nothing and to be able to go home in short order.
